Restaurant Review: Golden Corral (Parkchester, the Bronx, Location)

Sakura's Note: I do not have pictures from my visit to Golden Corral. I was with family after the burial of a loved one, and I would have found it rude to take pictures of the food in this circumstance.

There will be an update to this review in 2022.

Welcome to a new restaurant review,

Golden Corral is the first location in the New York City area. It opened in 2020 to much surprise to the residents. During this time, Golden Corral offered outdoor seating to their patrons with to-go containers.
Later in 2021 when pandemic restrictions were lifted in NYC, Golden Corral has reopened their dining room to their guests and patrons.

Please note that you must have an identification card and vaccination record or the Excelsior Pass to be seated in Golden Corral.

The wait staff, which consisted of one Latino young man, was pleasant and kind to us. I did not agree with the other party members about not leaving a tip; I did find that he did well for not having any assistance from his fellow co-workers.

Golden Corral is an all-you-can-eat buffet with unlimited drinks. Their menu consists of varied options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We came in the late afternoon, so we ended up trying their lunch options.

My first plate consisted of one yeast roll, a sweet potato (total accident,) and a couple of pieces of their fried fish. The fish used is not listed on their website and is not posted in the store.
The fried fish was crunchy and flavorful until I found out it was Tilapia. I do not like Tilapia nor do I purchase it.
The sweet potato was hot and enjoyable. I meant to pick the regular potato, but there's nothing wrong with a healthier substitution.

My second and final plate consisted of a bed of Spinach, bacon buts, mushrooms, some cheese, and ranch dressing. I know it wasn't the healthiest thing to have but don't judge me!

I picked up the baked fish. It was Tilapia as well which disappointed me further.
I had their fried okra and I fell in love with it.

At the end of my visit to Golden Corral, I had two Oatmeal Raisin cookies and a small vanilla cupcake.

Personal Opinion: This is my first visit to Golden Corral and I would like to go again to give a proper review. I do recommend this location to anyone who's looking for an all-you-can-eat-style buffet. It is worth coming as long as everyone is willing to pitch in for the bill.
A bill for six people came out to ninety dollars which is not bad.
I will be revisiting this location for their dinner option in 2022

Take care and be well everyone!
Sakura
