Restaurant Review: Crab Du Jour Xpress (West Harlem Location)

Sakura's Note:  Crab Ju Dour Xpress used to be combined with the Flaming Grill and Buffet located at the corner of West 126th Street and Frederick Douglas Blvd (8th Avenue to us natives).

The Flaming Grill and Buffet was the original location for both Crab Ju Dour Xpress. The Flaming Grill and Buffet would be the second restaurant to have opened in West Harlem for buffet-style offerings.

The buffet offered a unique experience of offering both eat-in and take-out services.

In March 2020, the Flaming Grill and Buffet would close their doors due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Crab Ju Dour Xpress would reopen its doors as a take-out-only institution for the remainder of the lockout. The proprietors of both Crab Ju Dour and the Flaming Grill and Buffet would permanently close their doors due to the rising price of their rent.

The proprietors of Crab Du Jour would reopen in the former location of Jumbo's Hamburger Palace in October 2021.

I decided to go inside and see what their new offerings would be. I was surprised to see a whole new staff in the back with a few Latinas and African American young women manning the cash registers.
The prices, during this time, are higher than before, and their offerings slimmer.

My original photos for Crab Du Jour were deleted due to circumstances beyond my control.
I will review the dishes again at a later date.
